The Manor Police Department continues to investigate a deadly shooting this week involving a teen in the Pflugerville Independent School District. According to police, Steven Montalvo, 17, died on Tuesday following that shooting on Jamie Drive.
The shooting was likely accidental, Manor police said. Investigators believe Montalvo was part of a group of teens playing with the gun at the time that it went off, striking Montalvo in the process.
Montalvo was a student at Weiss High School.
Despite the belief of investigators that this was an accidental shooting, a full investigation will be conducted as a matter of standard procedure.
Pflugerville ISD officials will have grief counselors on campuses for as long as they may be needed.
