A large number of school campuses have been impacted by the boil water order issued Saturday by the City of Austin. In response, both the Austin Independent School District and the Del Valle Independent School District are asking students and staff to come equipped with bottles of water.
Campuses across both districts have temporarily closed access to water fountains. Meals are being prepped in the cafeteria using an alternate menu where minimal water use may be required.
Students and staff will still have full access to restrooms and other hand-washing stations.
District officials say they will communicate with parents when the situation changes.
