The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) seeks public feedback on the draft 2023-2026 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Public commenting is open until April 25, 2022.
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a four-year programming document that is updated every two years per federal regulations. Projects outlined in the TIP have identified funding and are slated to begin implementation in the TIP window. Inclusion in the TIP is a requirement for transportation projects that receive state and federal funding. Public input is crucial to help inform discussion on the draft TIP during the CAMPO Transportation Policy Board’s deliberations on the most sizable transportation projects in the region’s history. The draft totals over $5 billion for multimodal transportation projects, including Interstate 35 improvements and light rail lines.
“This draft TIP represents the largest transportation investment ever for our region. We encourage the public to review and provide the Board with feedback on these critical projects that will address the need for enhanced highway, biking, walking, and transit infrastructure,” said CAMPO Transportation Policy Board Chair, Commissioner Cynthia Long.
