The Austin Independent School District Board of Trustees is expected to host a meeting as early as next week that will allow the public to provide input on the replacement for Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde, who announced recently she was leaving for a job with the Dallas Independent School District.
A transition meeting may take place on Monday, June 13, according to Board President Geronimo Rodriguez.
“The meeting will include an opportunity for the public to provide feedback and comments on what the district needs in an interim superintendent, and then potentially take action that day,” Rodriguez said.
The board has reviewed applications this week.
“We anticipate naming this individual soon and having them serve up to the summer of 2023,” said Rodriguez.
Elizalde’s last day at the helm of Austin ISD is June 30.
