$1 Billion in Monthly Sales Taxes Being Allocated Across Texas

Stacks of cash

The State of Texas continues to see increases in sales tax revenues.

For March, Comptroller Glenn Hegar is sending a combined $1 billion in sales tax revenue to local governments.  That’s nearly 10 percent more than in March of 2021.

March sales tax allocations are based on sales made in January by businesses that report their taxes monthly.

For the City of Austin, $26.7 million will be distributed, which is more than 12 percent above the allocation for March 2022.
