City of Austin is extend the hours of operation for cooling center locations over the weekend due to extreme heat.
The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories as temperatures are expected to remain high throughout the holiday weekend.
On Sunday, June 18, 2023 facilities run by the Parks and Recreation Department that are normally open on Sunday will stay open to 8 p.m.
On Monday, June 19, 2023, the city will keep some facilities opens, while others will be closed.
Service animals are permitted in City facilities.
