Officers with the Austin Police Department be going out on patrol this week to enforce the latest DWI No Refusal Initiative for Memorial Day Weekend. According to APD, the operation will be active from Thursday, May 23rd through Monday, May 27th.
APD’s No Refusal Initiative allows officers to apply for blood search warrants on drivers who refuse to provide a breath or blood specimen. Along with city streets, the effort will also focus on highways, high-speed roadways, and waterways.
