Nearly $60 Million in Federal Funds Returned to Texans in 2024

piles of cash

Texas Senator John Cornyn on Monday announced that $56,941,684 in federal funds, including U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs benefits, payment assistance to active duty military and military retirees, Internal Revenue Service tax refunds, Social Security checks, Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance, and more, were returned to Texans in 2024.

“As a U.S. Senator, I am honored to serve more than 31 million Texans, and one of the most important roles of my office is to help constituents who are encountering challenges interacting with the federal government,” said Sen. Cornyn. “In 2024, more than $56 million was returned to constituents, and this significant achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my constituent services team, who work to resolve issues Texans experience with federal agencies and help to connect them with the resources they need.”

According to Cornyn, the work stems from some of the more than 7,700 requests for assistance his office received last year from constituents throughout Texas
