The Cedar Park Police Department is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that took place on Saturday, January 4, in the 6400 block of the 183A toll road.
Upon arrival, officers reported a pickup truck in the median and a motorcycle in the roadway.
The driver of the motorcycle, Dane Benjamin Hone, 45, was transported to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries where he later passed away early Sunday morning.
Based on the investigation so far, CPPD says it appears the truck crashed into the median first, sending pieces of debris into the roadway. The motorcycle driver hit the debris moments later and crashed.
This remains an ongoing investigation at this time.
This is Cedar Park’s first traffic fatality of the year.
