As both Republicans and Democrats wait to hear what President Trump’s stance on gun reform will be, Texas US Senator John Cornyn says he’s working with both parties on Capitol Hill on that and says he’s gotten insight from law enforcement from El Paso and Odessa where mass shootings have occurred recently.
Cornyn says his proposal would beef up mental health treatment, give first responders more training and target unlicensed gun dealers.
