Austin firefighters pleased with the latest City of Austin budget

Austin Fire Department has in the past gotten the short end of the stick in city budgets but they’re pretty happy with this latest budget.

Austin City Council is being praised by Austin Firefighters for how they’re getting treated in the new city budget. Austin Firefighters Association President Bob Nicks notes the increased wildfire investment.

Nicks said Council is going ahead with building five new fire stations over the next six years, including one in Berdoll Farms that opens in October.

They’re utilizing an old unused toll booth building as a temporary station that will be open October 1st.
