Austin city council considers another motel for the homeless

The Austin City Council is considering the addition of another motel to help deal with the cities homeless problem. This one is the Micro-Tel near Ben White and 183, and the city would spend a total of 7.8 million dollars on the property. That’s the 6.8 million dollar purchase price and another one-million for renovations. This comes after the city spent 8 million dollars last month to buy the Rodeway Inn near Interstate 35 and Oltorf.
