This week, Trinity University’s economics department released a study detailing the negative impacts mandated sick leave ordinances can have on small businesses. Former Austin council member Ellen Troxclair says these ordinances also scare away future businesses who may want to move here.
The Trinity study says forced sick leave has a severe detriment on a business owner’s goods and services, and ultimately the local economy as a whole.
