The Travis County DA’s office is dropping 32 felony marijuana-related drug cases because the Texas legislature passed HB 1325.
District Attorney Margaret Moore says the new law dictates the legal difference between marijuana which is illegal and hemp which is legal, but they don’t have the tests in place to show the difference.
DA Moore says she will be looking at each of those cases, to see if it is worth finding a lab and paying the 100-thousand dollar plus fees to continue with the prosecution.
