First, Commander Steve Deaton was accused of making lewd comments to a producer of the TV show Live PD. Then, he made a stir again posting photos on social media showing dolls depicting acts of violence. And calls from the public continue to grow for Deaton’s firing. One woman said as long as (Deaton) stays in the sheriffs dept. the woman, children and people of color in Williamson County are not safe.
County commissioner Russ Boles has called for his resignation. Deaton is believed to be largely behind the county’s decision to sever its ties with Live PD.
The county may vote on the new social media policy next week.
