Three months after a vote in favor of extending a contract with producers of the show ‘Live PD,’ the Williamson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday will discuss putting an end to it. At issue is Commander Steve Deaton of the sheriff’s department, whose recent social media posts have prompted a wave of backlash.
Deaton is accused of making jokes about sexual violence and racism. The Commissioners Court does not have the power to fire employees at the sheriff’s department.
