In the wake of last weekend’s mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, Austin Police will be thick downtown for the Austin Pride Festival and Parade this weekend. Assistant Chief Justin Newsome says you will see many officers in and around the parade, and he says there will be many officers that you won’t see.
He says you should also take steps to stay safe, including knowing where you would go to stay safe in case something happens around you.
