The Hays Consolidated Independent School District has hired a 30-year veteran of the Hays County Sheriff’s Department to be the new director of safety and security. Jeri Skrocki will fill that role, which was created by the district following the Santa Fe High School shooting last year. Skrocki has previously served as a school resource officer, and is also a certified mental health officer.
