- The City of Austin’s Transportation Department has decided to add protected bike lanes to a sections of Shoal Creek Blvd
- A two-way protected bike lane will be installed at the lower section of Shoal Creek Boulevard from 38th Street to Foster Lane
- A one-way protected bikeway will be built on both sides of Shoal Creek Boulevard along the upper section that stretches from Foster Lane to US 183
- The changes will remove parking in these areas as well as reduce lanes for car travel
- Other plans for improvements will also be included like a bike underpass
- Construction is expected to begin later this summer
