The State Senate passes a bill to study the impact of current treatment programs for eating disorders and how they can be improved. Senator Nathan Johnson sponsored the bill.

He says right now, more than 70 percent of those people suffering from eating disorders don’t seek treatment because of the stigma attached and lack of access to healthcare.

He says people with eating disorders have a higher mortality rate than all other mental disorders combined and they are far more likely to commit suicide.
