Flooding remains a concern for the Austin-area today.
There are nearly 200 low-water crossings that are closed off this morning because of flash flooding. And of course, anytime we flood in Austin, there’s always concern along Onion Creek. A flood warning will remain in effect for Onion Creek until this evening. Barton Creek has climbed above its 8-foot flood stage right there near Loop 360. And the Pedernales River has also risen quite a bit, cresting at its highest point in four years.
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch that runs all the way through Saturday evening, meaning more rising water is very possible.
