The Texas legislature is in the final month of this session, and property taxes remain a hot item. The bill getting the most traction would cap annual property tax increases at 3.5-percent for cities and counties. Another proposal would raise the sales tax to buy down school property taxes, but Mack Morris with ‘Americans for Prosperity’ says that’s a flawed plan.
Morris says he’s also concerned that there are too many proposals which will collide in such a way that no reform gets passed this year.
