The City of Georgetown announces it was ranked the third safest city in Texas.
The ranking by SafeHome-dot-org for cities with a population of over fifty thousand was based on FBI crime stats, officer-to-population ratio, crime trends and demographic factors. It gave Georgetown an overall safety score of 86.49 on a 100-point scale. Pflugerville was number 5, Cedar Park number 6 and Round Rock number 14. San Marcos was 32. Austin was 49.
