Severe weather coming to Central Texas

bad weather ahead sign

Central Texas is expected to see some severe weather in the overnight hours. The National Weather Service says a storm system is approaching at approximately 1AM and bringing with it the possibility of large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.

Meteorologist Dan Brounoff says people should do theire best to stay out of the storm and stay in shelter. If you’re unable to get home from work before storms arrive, try not to be on the roads or at least pull off and find shelter. He emphasized parking under a highway overpass is not the answer…because that creates a traffic backup and puts others in danger.

And if you’re in areas that have outdoor sirens they may go off this evening. While they may not mean a tornado is approaching, you need to get inside immediately if you hear them.
