A new secondary road to landlocked Vandegrift High School is passed by Austin City Council as part of the Strategic Mobility Plan. Councilmember Jimmy Flannigan said the road would would run parallel to 2222 and connect McNeil Road to Four Points Drive/RiverPlace Road.
Flannigan said its the first step of a long process. He expects developers to pick up the cost of the road in exchange for zoning changes.
Funding has yet to be found for the road but Flannigan expects developers will end up paying for it as part of an upcoming zoning change.
