Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a Dallas bound pickup on I-35 and through some investigation found a massive stash of drugs. The Sheriff called it the biggest drug bust in the County’s recent history if not Central Texas’.
Sheriff Robert Chody reported deputies discovered 111 pounds of meth and 63 pounds of heroin in secret compartments welded to the inside of the pickup’s wheel wells. He estimated its worth to be at least $1.5-million.
Chody has no doubt his deputies saved lives in Dallas and Central Texas through this bust. He explained what they see happening is the drugs going to Dallas but then being redistributed around the state including Williamson County, where he added, they’ve seen a slight up tick in the number of overdose deaths.
The Sheriff added the massive amount of drugs found is not normal and beleives it has ties to drug Cartels.
Chody said the driver of the pick up, Lucia Garcia, 37 of Eagle Pass, Tx has been arrested and is facing multiple drug charges. She is refusing to cooperate with investigators
