One Northeast Austin man was sent to an area hospital Wednesday with a non-life threatening gun shot wound after getting in a gunfight at his apartment complex near the intersection of Cameron Rd and Anderson Ln.
Austin Police Sgt. Michael McCarter said two black men in their 20s are being detained after a morning shootout with each other at the Agave Falls Apartments. The man who was wounded was firing from his balcony with a pistol. The man in the parking lot was using an AR-15.
McCarter said both shooters were detained.
The Shoot out happened just before noon, and the damage was spread around the area. McCarter explained they discovered multiple bullet entries to other apartments but thankfully no one else was hurt in the exchange of gunfire.
McCarter believes the two men may know each other and both could face aggravated assault and deadly conduct charges.
