Austin school district still without a concrete plan to address budget problems

AISD is now in a sort of “stop the bleed” mode because the budget gap is growing wider by the year.  Chief Financial Officer Nicole Conley-Johnson said the gap has grown to $20-million this year and the continued loss of of enrollment is only compounding the problem

$85-million by the 2021 school year.  Tonight, the school board will again discuss the possibility of campus consolidation.  Johnson says drastic action much be taken, if for no other reason than the vast amount of money the state takes, which will hit $785-million next year, or roughly 60-percent of every dollar you pay in taxes.
