Seventy percent of serious and fatal Austin crashes happen on just eight percent of Austin’s roads.
Austin Police will begin enforcement in what’s called the High Injury Network of North Lamar, Burnet Road, South Congress, Oltorf and William Cannon.
The city will focus its efforts on what’s called the High Injury Network. Lewis Leff with Austin’s Transportation Department says a small number of roads have the most deadly crashes.
Leff said distracted driving is a factor in nearly twenty percent of all fatal and serious crashes in Austin over the last five years.
