One of the biggest questions surrounding regulating dockless electric scooters in Austin is how or even if speed limits should be placed on them. One idea that Councilmember Kathie Tovo is curious about is how the University of Texas is slowing scooters down via GeoFencing.
Transportation Department staff is working to sift through amendments and concerns and will likely present the council with a resolution in the next few weeks.
