UPDATE: Immigration advocate allegedly defaced Border Patrol museum

Statue of Liberty climber climbed the top of the Southwest Key Building protesting in Austin

Thursday Evening UPDATE:

The woman who climbed the Southwest Key Building in east Austin and her accomplice were part of the El Paso Border Patrol Museum vandalism a few days ago. 
Therese Patricia Okoumou and Louis Montibas were allegedly among a group of 50 that damaged exhibits, stuck photos of kids who died in border custody over fallen border patrol agents’ faces and defaced a sacred area.  An unidentified museum employee told KFOX News she tried to stop them and was verbally assaulted and harassed.
The museum is a privately-run facility. The FBI is investigating over 100 acts of vandalism at the museum. Okoumou was on the Southwest Key Building for over 8 hours. She will face trespassing charges.
 


Thursday Morning UPDATE:

Therese Patricia Okoumou has been arrested and charged with trespassing. Protestors promised to retaliate leaveing a message for Southwest Key founder Juan Sanchez, should he press charges they would hound him at his home.


A woman climbs a building in Austin protesting the housing of undocumented immigrant children. Austin Police are redirecting school busses from nearby campuses away from the Southwest Key Building on Jain Lane in East Austin.

Therese  Patricia Okoumou was live streaming as she ascending the building Police and EMS have surrounded the building and are standing by. She was heard shouting “Free The Children! Free The Children!” 

Austin-based Southwest Key is a non-profit  previously criticized for harboring undocumented immigrant children separated from their parents at the border.

Okoumou was found guilty of trespassing for climbing the Statue of Liberty on July 4.
