The Green New Deal blocked by the Senate

John Cornyn

The Senate has blocked the green new deal, a progressive climate change resolution, from going to debate. It failed to reach the 60 votes necessary. Texas Senator John Cornyn voted against the bill, but found it odd that the measure failed 0-57, with 43 democrats voting “present.”…

He called the bill chockful of utopian ideas but completely devoid of concrete plans to implement any of its overreaching policies.

Three democrats joined republicans in voting against it.
