Federal Probe launched into UT Admissions

The US Dept of Education is investigating admissions practices at the University of Texas at Austin. The Statesman reports seven other universities tied to a bribery scandal were included. UT said in a statement they’re cooperating with federal officials as they continue their own investigation. Former UT Tennis Coach Michael Center was arrested and charged with taking a $100,000 bribe to let a student with questionable ability get a sports scholarship. In all fifty people including parents stand accused in the scandal.
