On Thursday, the Austin City Council will vote on a new contract with the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond to provide city employees training to combat instututional racism.  It’s an issue the mayor made a priority, including the formation of the Mayor’s Task Force on Institutional Racism.

If approved, all city employees would be required to undergo this training, called “Undoing Racism,” from the mayor himself all the way down the line.

The five-year contract would come at a cost to taxpayers of nearly $900,000.
