Hutto to Open New City Hall Next Week

The Hutto City Manager has announced that City Hall operations are fully expected to begin serving residents on April 1 at the newly completed City Hall and Public Library at 500 W. Live Oak Street.

“We have been actively moving for the past few weeks while maintaining service at our existing offices,” said City Manager Odis Jones. “We will take a few days to transition the payment apparatus to the new City Hall, and close City services and the Hutto Public Library from Wednesday, March 27 to Sunday, March 31,” added Jones.

Business will resume as normal on Monday, April 1 at the new City Hall and Public Library. Utility services, municipal court, the City Secretary, the library will be on the first floor. The second floor will include administration, engineering, public works, development services, parks and recreation, financial services, communications, economic development, information technology and human resources.

Residents with bills due between Wednesday, March 27 and Monday, April 1 will be given an extension until Friday, April 5 to pay their bills without incurring late fees.

Water connection requests require a two-day turnaround. Residents who are closing on real estate at the end of March are asked to provide a letter from their title company with the closing date, and the City will connect water prior to the City Hall move.

Residents with questions about their utility bills or payments should call (512) 759-4055 before Wednesday, March. 27 or on Monday, April 1.

During this closure, residents needing police, fire or EMT services are asked to call 911 for emergencies, or (512) 846-2200 for 24-hour non-emergency dispatch.
