Austin City Council to discuss lofty transportation plan next week

The Austin Strategic Mobility Plan will go before the city council next week.  It’s an effort to change the current plan that has been in effect since 1995 with its main focus being on buses, bikes, scooters, and ridesharing options, but not cars.  

Annick Beaudet with the Transportation Department said this plan is about moving masses of people all at once:

The city wants a 400-percent increase in the number of people dependant upon public transportation by 2039.
