Williamson County, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and City of Liberty Hill will hold a groundbreaking for much needed improvements to the intersection of SH 29 and C.R. 200 / Loop 332.  The County led project includes adding dedicated right turn, left turn and through lanes on C.R. 200 at SH 29.  A right turn lane from northbound SH.29 onto C.R. 200, drainage improvements at the intersection, and a new traffic signal are also part of the project scope.

“Improving safety and mobility throughout the county is one of our highest priorities.  These improvements will relieve the congestion and remove the bottleneck at this busy intersection,” said County Commissioner Cynthia Long.

Mayor Rick Hall commented on the importance of this project to the City of Liberty Hill in the following statement, “The improvements to this intersection and the other improvements that the county is doing on C.R. 200 will be very beneficial to Liberty Hill residents and all drivers in the area. I am thankful for the great partnership we have with Williamson County.”

The funds for the improvements are $1.1 million from Williamson County, $500,000 from the Texas Department of Transportation and $100,000 from the Liberty Hill Economic Development Corporation.  O’Brien Engineering Services (now Jones/Carter) is the design engineer, and Cox Commercial Construction is the contractor.
