In a memo APD said Commander Jason Dusterhoft was involved in deadly conduct when he was choking a woman while intimate in bed and was indefinitely suspended. Dusterhoft’s lawyer, Jason Nassour refuted those claims adding it was completely consensual. And even with taped evidence, (that’s right there is a video) there wasn’t enough for the department’s leaders.
Nassuor said the Travis County DA’s office couldn’t see enough of a case here to prosecute, and believes there is no way APD could come up with enough to fire his client. The department memo reports, while there is no evidence Dusterhoft did anything illegal, they refuse to associate with people who may tarnish the department’s name.
Nassour was disappointed, but not surprised by the APD Chief’s final call, he has filed an appeal to the decision to get Dusterhoft’s job back.
