Specifically connecting to farther locations like Lago Vista. It’s an idea first proposed by Ashby Johnson with the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, and it appears to have struck a chord with Lakeway Mayor Sandy Cox who thinks it could be a much for viable solution compared to an expensive bridge or overpass.
Cox said a ferry could bolster the workforce in Lakeway by cutting way down on the distance workers would have to travel to get there. As of now, however, there is no concrete plan in the works to make a ferry a reality.
