The constant rain is cause record flooding in the Hill Country.
The water hasn’t been this high on the Llano River since 1935. That’s when the record of 41.5 feet was reached in Llano, and the river is cresting today just short of that mark. That is causing evacuations along the river in Llano and in Kingsland. Floodgates are open at Lake LBJ and Lake Marble Falls to move those floodwaters downstream as fast as possible. All of that water will end up in Lake Travis in the next couple of days, causing a rise of around 10 feet before it’s all said and done.
