The 183 South Project remains on schedule for a 2020 completion.
The project, when finished, will offer up a signal-free ride for drivers as a north-south alternative to I-35. CTRMA’s Frank Leffingwell says, when all is said and done, this will rival other major roads in the Austin-area as well.
CTRMA says there has been considerable progress made around MLK where a significant amount of traffic is now bypassing that old intersection with a very noticeable increase in traffic flow. The southbound lanes could be open as early as May of next year.
