Austin Arts groups clamor for city dollars and complain that they didn’t get as much than previously. Mayor Steve Adler said it was partly because some of the money came from one time carry over deals.
To aid the situation, Council wants to look for more Hotel Occupancy Tax funds in the short term rental industry. Council agreed to spend 8.7-million on arts grants.
