Specifically those drivers who use the pay-by-mail option but refuse to pay a dime. And it’s not just a Central Texas problem, it’s really statewide. Jeff Austin with the Trexas Transportation Commission said using the tolls is a privilege, not a right.
CTRMA is expected to adopt its own habitual violator program, including things like trespassing charges or registration holds.
CTRMA said about 27-percent of pay-by-mail users pay nothing at all.
