The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is expected to adopt a new habitual violator program for drivers who requently use the pay-by-mail option but refuse to pay their bills.

According to recent numbers from CTRMA, 27{41b94ed60641855d30e715a04518d04419c2f56ef405d11541f9f93e1967c2b2} of drivers who use the pay-by-mail option don’t pay, some of whom owe quite a bit of money.

If adopted, the program is expected to be similar to the program recently approved by the Texas Transportation Commission involving trespassing charges, vehicle registration holds, and publicly naming the worst offenders online.

The CTRMA Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday to discuss the plan.
