The StarFlight medic who gave her life in the line of duty three and a half years ago is getting honored.
The StarFlight Hangar on Manor Road is closer to being renamed for Kristin McClain. StarFlight’s Chuck Spangler got emotional as he spoke to Travis County Commissioners. “I’m thankful to report to you that most of the tears have been replaced with laughter and joy in memory of Kristin, in all of the conversations that we’ve had. You know it’s painful, but it’s time for this to happen. And we are very grateful for the opportunity and look forward to it.”
Resident Cindy Present made this plea. “I just ask that we name that hangar, that building after Kristin; not because she died tragically, but that she lived so impactfully.”
It passed unanimously. The renaming is expected to take place sometime next year.
