The Austin City Council is being sued by the operators of the MetCenter. In May, the council approved negotiations for a $31-million lease of the building for a new municipal court, but last month also approved negotiations with a different company for a site just down the road. Mayor Steve Adler felt it would let the city keep its options open.
The MetCenter said the council’s decision cost it $500,000, as well as any other prospective tenants who might’ve wanted to rent that same space.
