If you are looking for someone new to follow on Facebook and Twitter, the Department of Public Safety has a suggestion. DPS is launching regional Twitter and Facebook accounts to give more localized information. That includes the Central Texas region, which is made up of 40 counties running all the way from Hillsboro through Waco, Austin, the Hill Country, down to San Antonio and all the way down to Victoria. DPS Regional Director Phillip Ayala says social media is changing the way communities interact and engage with law enforcement agencies, which is why these new pages are being launched.
