Beto O’Rourke, the Democratic challenger to incumbent Republican US Senator from Texas Ted Cruz continues to stake a claim in the hearts and minds of Austin voters. Travis County GOP Chairman Matt Makowiak thinks voters outside of Austin are unfazed by O’Rourke’s popularity in urban centers. Some polls have Cruz and O’Rourke tied.
