On Wednesday, June 27, Austin Police Department (APD) and Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at the Valero gas station located at 13014 Pond Springs Rd. Upon arrival, officers observed Davon Gross with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services responded to the scene but were unable to revive Gross. He was pronounced deceased at 5:12 p.m. by Dr. Escott.
APD Homicide Unit processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. Preliminary information indicates this was a targeted attack and not a random incident.
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy this morning. The medical examiner ruled that Gross died from a gunshot wound. The manner of death was homicide.
