Race for the next Governor of Texas has come down to a war of words

There’s a war of words between the two campaigns for Governor over when, where and how Governor Abbott and Former Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez will debate. The Abbott campaign claims the September 28th date has been agreed on. Valdez fired off a letter Thursday to Governor Abbott questioning his conditions, including the date. Texas Democratic Party Spokesman Manny Garcia said that Governer Abbott is refusing any sort of audience, no spanish-language component, and not to mention its a Friday night and most will be watching High School Football.

Abbott campaign spokesman John Wittman released a statement countering the Valdez letter saying it’s clear our opponent does not wish to debate. Valdez says having no debate would disrespect the voters.
